SmokeSlam will be a barbecue festival like no other – held May 16th – May 18th on the banks of the Mississippi River at Tom Lee Park in downtown Memphis, TN, the Barbecue Capitol of the World. SmokeSlam will be an inclusive event that enhances the rich tradition of barbecue in Memphis, the unique river setting and the city’s musical heritage: The event is designed to attract barbecue fans, families, music lovers and competitors from Memphis and beyond. SmokeSlam is serious about delivering a world-class competition and is putting up a purse of $250,000, the largest in pork BBQ competition history.


The festival will include a carnival with a Ferris wheel, games, a central marketplace, where fans will be able to buy merchandise and other goods from local businesses, and an interactive area where guests will be able to sample food and participate in engaging culinary-related events including demos from celebrity chefs. SmokeSlam will have live music on all three nights, catering to a wide range of musical tastes, with both local and national talent performing. There will be something for everyone, with the barbecue competition at the core of the event.
